After a month of refining our list of equipment and figuring out where we want it all to go, the plans for our food truck are finished and have been submitted to Marin and Sonoma counties for approval!
Meanwhile, our food truck manufacturer has been monitoring auctions and online sales for the actual truck. We are buying a used truck that will be custom outfitted with all new commercial equipment. Among other things, our truck will have two fryers, an oven, two refrigerators and a freezer. It will also have a display case installed below the order window so customers will be able to see all of our yummy desserts and other special items for sale.
Once we buy the truck and the plans are approved, the manufacturer will start building, so cross your fingers for a speedy approval process!

Arthur serving up our first bowl of Grandmother’s Chicken & Dumplings!
This month, we are excited to offer a few new additions to the menu at the cafe. In the morning, we have Pumpkin Pecan Coffee Cake to go with our Barking Dog French press coffee and Mighty Leaf hot tea.
For lunch, we have Grandmother’s Chicken & Dumplings made the way Rachel’s grandmother and GREAT grandmother made them. It is a classic Southern dish, so be sure to come try it while it lasts!
Last month we added fresh organic mixed greens with apple cider vinaigrette to our regular list of sides, and this month we are adding one more: Spicy Black Eyed Peas. This new vegan side is perfect for our Veggie Plate: your choice of three sides plus a homemade buttermilk biscuit.
As always, we have our full menu of Arthur’s Fried Chicken, Baked Mac & Cheese, Southern-Style Vegan Collard Greens and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits. We also still have our Fried Chicken Salad and our Southern-Style Tofu Salad, both served with our homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing.
Come visit us at the pop-up cafe at 1115 3rd St. in downtown San Rafael. We are there every Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am to 2:30pm. Hope to see you there!

If you’ve been to the cafe this month, you might have seen our first annual gingerbread food truck. From the peppermint patty tires to the cookie vent covers, everything you see is edible. Come by and see it for yourself!

Even Korean pop singer Psy has his own truck (or at least once with his face on it)!
This past weekend, Arthur and Rachel took a trip down to Los Angeles to tour and select a food truck fabricator! After communicating with a number of fabricators, we narrowed it down to three and took a road trip to meet them in person and tour the facilities.
It was really fun and interesting touring food trucks at every point in the manufacturing process. We even got a few ideas for our own truck.
In the end, we were most impressed with Legion Manufacturing and have hired them to design and build our truck! A huge thanks to everyone we met during our trip. We can’t wait to see our food truck come to life.

A huge thanks to everyone who participated in our First Annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale! We surpassed our goal and received rave reviews about the pies. The best seller was Chocolate Bourbon Pecan, with Organic Pumpkin as a close second. We are already excited about next year!

We are offering four amazing holiday pies: pumpkin, double-crust apple, pecan and chocolate bourbon pecan.

After a summer of perfecting our Signature Fried Chicken, we have expanded our menu to include two delicious new items!
The first is our Fried Chicken Salad, which is an all-natural boneless southern fried chicken breast atop organic mixed greens, shredded heirloom carrots, local tomatoes and a homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. We serve our Fried Chicken Salad with a homemade buttermilk biscuit.
We are also debuting a Southern-Style Tofu Salad, which has been prepared with the same the signature spice blend that we use for our almost-famous fried chicken. We pan fry our tofu in olive oil and serve it atop organic mixed greens, shredded heirloom carrots, local tomatoes and a homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. Our Southern-Style Tofu Salad comes with a homemade buttermilk biscuit.
